If You Give a Moose a Muffin

We started our morning off reading this fun book by Laura Numeroff.  We read it over several times the children loved it so.  They howled with laughter, threw their hands over their eyes in dismay as the moose created one crises after another.  

 Then we got busy making our own set of Moose ears and muffins.

If you give a group of kids a bowl full of muffin mix they are going to want to stir it...

 and if they stir it they might, quite by accident, get messy...

 and if they get messy they're going to want to get clean...

We popped our muffins in the oven and while we waited for them to bake we made a puppet just as the moose did in the story.

We had some muffin counting fun learning

I programmed muffin papers 1-12 and let the children count the right number of M&M's into each muffin cup.  They wanted to stay at this activity for much longer than I had anticipated, but I allowed them the time they wanted/needed.  

Then we made an M moose.

by this time our muffins were baked.

For lunch I made some corn muffins with hot dogs inside then put the rest of the kids food in muffin papers for a fun muffin themed lunch.  The children LOVED it~!

After lunch and nap we worked on this Mm writing sheet.

We had a marvelous moose and muffin day~!
