The children look at the picture then find the heart with the letter that picture starts with.
Did you notice Victor the Vulture overlooking the playing of the game?
One of the best benefits of a multi-aged small class setting, there is time and resource enough to give each child one on one attention and the older students help the younger. It's, in my humble opinion, learning at its best.
Who do you love? Why do you love them? These were the questions I asked the children. Then we did some fun Koosh art.
Next we did Vv writing.
The kids wrote their V's twice, then cut out Vv pictures and glued to their paper.
I found these heart ice-cube trays in the Target dollar bins. I programmed them 1-14. The little heart cups were found at the Dollar Tree, conversation hearts, and pattern cards created a nice Valentine's day math center.
Lots of counting, math fun!
We enjoyed seventy degree weather here in Texas, so we went outside to play before lunch and nap.
Lunch: Hamburger, mac-n-cheese, zucchini rounds, apple slices and milk.
Victor the Vulture joined us for lunch too.
After nap we enjoyed snack then practiced writing our names and this writing sheet.
I put together a Valentine tactile tub by throwing in purple, pink, and red pom poms of varying sizes, some heart shaped measuring cups and spoons I found in the Target's dollar bins, and putting the ice tray from the math center, added a few children and there you have it, total fun.
Happy V~Day week everyone,
Ms. P
