A Pinky Pig P. The children practiced writing Pp and pig, then painted a P pink, glued it onto a black piece of construction paper and added the piggy bits. I thought it turned out adorable, but then, I may be a wee bit prejudice.
After making our Pinky Pig P's we made Pinky Pig Puppets.
Several months back I found the most adorable ABC pasta online
and quickly snatched it up with visions of cute art dancing through my brain. When we started Pp week I just knew I had to put my pasta to good work and here is what I came up with
.
I made a Pinky Pig from a cereal box, cutting a mouth for the children to feed Pinky the Pp pastas only, explaining all other letters would make her sick and lose her Pp sound.
I threw the ABC pastas into a tub, added a pair of big grip tweezer, just for the added benefit of small motor skills being developed, and there you have it, a wonderful fun language center.
The children really enjoyed the process and started to oink, "Thank you!" each time they fed her a P.
After a morning of Pp learning fun it was time for lunch and a nap.
Lunch was, spaghetti and meatballs, cheese toast, snow peas and carrots with ranch dip, and apple slices with milk to drink.
After nap and snack, we practiced our names and then did this worksheet
After a weeks worth of cold and rain the children were eager to move their bodies and have a bit of fun. I saw no reason not to add in a bit of Pp learning fun to the mix so this is what we ended up doing.
Pom Poms on a parachute. The idea was to keep the pom poms on the parachute. The kids had a blast and did not want to put away the game once it was time.
Good night, everyone
Ms. P
