If you give a pig a pancake she's gonna want some syrup to go with it...
so begins the wonderfully wacky tale of a pig, a girl, and a pancake.
After reading our story I told the children we would be eating pancakes and which would they like on top of theirs, strawberries, blueberries, or, like the pig, syrup. After we graphed their answers and leaned which got the most votes we did this fun art project.
The children practiced their Pp's, colored their pancake, then painted with either strawberry, blueberry, or syrup on the top. It was a delightfully sensory art activity, engaging all of the senses to better retain what we were learning that day.
The sun did not shine, it was too wet to play, but we did not sit in the house on that cold, cold wet day, no sir, not us. Instead we...
After we moved our bodies and had a bit of fun it was time to get down to the hard work of
which we enjoyed for lunch along with
berries, turkey sausage, orange juice, and milk.
Everyone had seconds and two had thirds.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so instead of telling you how much they enjoyed their pancake lunch I'll show you.
With bellies full of pancake goodness, and brains swimming with new Pp knowledge it was time for naps.
The children really enjoyed watching me flip the pancakes but, of course, it was too dangerous to allow them to have a go at it while the griddle was hot but there was nothing to stop them once the griddle was unplugged and had cooled so
After "cooking" we practice writing our names and then made these
perfectly pink Popsicle Pp's
Pleasant dreams everyone
Ms. P
