He drank vinegar and he never said a word
He lived up in Vermont in his village home
But he never had a visitor, he was all alone.
Well, Victor the Vulture went to the village dance
He ran into Vanessa it was just by chance
Her violet velveteen vest made her look so fine
That Victor sweetly asked her, "Please be my valentine."
Thus began our two week Vv/Valentine's Day unit of study.
We started circle today by talking about the new month, then we shared our Victor the Vulture book and song.
Then we were off to the tables to color and make a Victor the Vulture stick puppet.
After our puppets we were ready to make our Victor the Vulture hats, which I am sad to report ended up looking more like an Angry Bird than a Vulture, and yes, the children did notice and comment.
Time to introduce a bit of tactile fun. The Valentine tactile tubs were easy to put together. Pink, purple, and red pom poms, in different sizes. Through out this two week period I will add different things to the tubs to regenerate interest.
Look at those eyes!
What do you get when you take red,
and mix it with
blue? Violet, of course.
"Purple!"
"PURPLE! Look, it turned purple!"
"Awww, look! It's making purple! My blue is making my red purple."
Lunch time, pull-apart pizza bread, carrots and celery with ranch dip, blood oranges, and milk.
Happy Birthday Dear C! We love you!
How do you know you've had a good time?
When you end up looking like this.
Tomorrow we blow our tops.
See you then.
Ms. P
