We added a pair of these easy grip tweezers
Next we made super star hats. I asked the children what made them special and explained we would be making super star hats telling everyone they were special and why. It was wonderful to hear the children telling me their long lists of wonder, super special qualities.
After making our hats it was time to get down to some writing fun. The children decorated Stars after tracing the Ss dotted in their centers. Super special writing fun!
After our writing fun we played a game with a big blown up balloon with a star on both sides. The goal of the game was to keep the balloon in the air and not allow the star to fall. Wonderful gross motor activity on a cold rainy day. The children begged to continue playing instead of coming to lunch.
After nap and lunch we made play-dough.
1/2 cup of salt
1 cup of flour with 2 teaspoons of cream of tarter
1 cup of water with 2 tablespoons of oil. Add a couple drops of food coloring, remember, blue and green calm children, red and yellow hype them up. Cook over low heat until a ball forms. Cool and store in covered container. Play-dough will keep for two to three weeks.
After our play-dough cooled we made snakes and Ss's with it.
Wonderful Ss learning fun. Tomorrow Snakes, snakes, snakes.
