Today was Sally the Spider day and we had a busy fun day.
We met Sally the Spider.
(sung to the tune of Sally the camel)
Sally the Spider has eight legs.
Sally the Spider has eight legs.
Sally the Spider has eight legs,
so spin Sally, spin.
Boom Boom Boom
Sally the Spider spins her web.
Sally the Spider spins her web.
Sally the Spider spins her web,
so spin Sally, Spin.
Boom Boom Boom
Sally the Spider snags her supper.
Sally the Spider snags her supper.
Sally the Spider snags her supper,
so spin Sally, spin.
Boom Boom Boom BOOM!
We made a Sally the Spider hat, then we...
added eyes and a mouth and legs, then we...
had a Sally the Spider puppet to snag those bugs while we sang our Ss Sally the Spider song.
After Making the puppet it was time for some super spider math fun playing Sally Spider snags supper.
Program webs with numbers 1-10. You can make them self checking by dotting the backs of each web. Get a bowl full of marshmallow "bugs" let the little ones put on the Sally Spider hats and they are ready for some super silly math fun.
Let the children add the right amount of bugs to each web. Sally is snagging some super great supper today.
Now your little Sally or Stan Spiders get to gobble up all those marshmallow spiders, but, they have to count them as they eat them.
Now that is a mouth full of counting fun!!
Just before lunch and nap we made cupcakes. As soon as we woke up, washed up and ate our afternoon snacks we got busy turning our cupcakes into Sally Spiders.
Marshmallow eyes, red hot mouth, and Twizzlers legs.
Four spider cupcakes.
One very happy little girl.
After we made our spider cupcakes we practiced writing our Ss's.
All in all, Sally Spider was a super success!
See you tomorrow.
Ms. P
