Then inside to clean up and read this adorable book about friends we find in the ocean. Things look different depending on how you look at them.
After we read this book we looked at pictures of sea urchins.
Then we watched a sea urchin on youtube. Have I mentioned that I love having access to the internet for the children? Nothing takes the place of seeing the animals we are learning about with our own eyes.

We read this funny rhyming book about a grumpy fellow and the friends who try to help cheer him. We will be revisting this book through out the week.
Our Pout~Pout Fish writing center.
We enjoyed the reading of this fun book. We brought along a couple of friends to share the fun.
The crab had to turn the pages.
S enjoyed reading the repetitive portions to his octopus pal.
After reading the story through a few times I asked the kids, "What makes you grumpy."
I recorded their answers then let them illustrate their grump grump stories.
Grump~Grump C
When I have to share my crab I get grumpy.
Grump~Grump S
When my eyes close when I watch TV at night I get grumpy.
This is his grumpy face. ha ha ha!
Next we talked about how the Grump~Grump Fish felt at the start of our story and how he felt at the end. I found this little book online and thought it a good conversation started for mom and dad when their little one got home.
It was also the perfect time to review our emotion words.

Then I asked the children what they would do to cheer up the Grump~Grump Fish and had them make their own Grump~Grump Fish.
I would play lions and tigers with the Grump~Grump Fish to cheer him up and make him smile.
I would play with the Grump~Grump Fish and be his friend to cheer him up and make him smile.
We enjoyed our tactile tubs before outside time and lunch.
For lunch we enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs, orange slices, cheese toast, salad, and milk.
After nap and snack we practiced writing our names and this worksheet
Happy Tuesday, see everyone tomorrow
