We enjoy this entertaining book at circle.
Then we made clay octopus. Tactile activities are wonderful for engaging more parts of the brain making it easier to retain information. As we made our Octopus Ollies we sang our Oo~Octopus Ollie song.
Singing/music also engages different parts of the brain. The more parts of the brain engaged during an activity the more information is retained!
Tactile learning is VERY important.

We had so much fun creating these oceans. We named and talked about the different animals who live in the ocean, then we got busy creating an ocean of our own. We used oatmeal for the sand.
