Tuesday, February 26th POPCORN DAY

We started our popcorn day by reading this gem of a book chalked full with popcorn facts.

Then I let the kids loose with a big bowl of popcorn, glue and a sheet of paper to create popcorn art any way they chose.

After letting the children explore the popcorn freely it was time to get more concrete and link all this popcorn goodness with our letter of the week so we made

Popcorn P's.

I love letting the children explore many different ways to create art so it was only natural to let them explore with the popcorn and paint

They loved the experience.

Of all the fun popcorn activities the children explored their favorite, by far, was this

Popcorn is a lot of fun but it's also very messy.  Thank goodness we have domestic help 'round here

There wasn't a kernel left when she got finished.

It was a cold wet day, too cold and wet to go outside so I turned this on and let the kids dance as if they were kernels of corn over a hot flame.

After moving our bodies and burning off some of that popcorn energy it was time for lunch and a nap

Lunch was steak fingers, creamed potatoes, tri-colored green beans with carrots, and apple slices, with milk to drink.

After nap we enjoyed a snack of popcorn and apple juice then practiced writing our names and working on this writing sheet.

Well, things were certainly popping round here today.  I hope your's was a good day as well.

See you tomorrow,
Ms. P
