Enormous ears
Enormous ears
Elephant Ed has enormous ears
and a nose that goes
E-e-e-e-e
Thus started our Elephant Ed day.
We read this funny story about a very friendly elephant
Then we made these
Elephant Ed hats with enormous ears. We had an interesting conversation about what the word enormous means. Now the children understand it means very, very, VERY big.
We wore our hats and stomped around making our Ee sound with our noses. They had a blast!
We practiced writing our Ee with this writing sheet.
Then we read this cute little book about Easter Eggs.
Jan Brett is one of my favorite children's authors/illustrators, so I was so happy to see her Easter Egg book about a little bunny who wants to create the best egg so he can win the right to help the Easter bunny hide all the eggs on Easter Eve. He finally decides to just create an egg he can be proud of, then something happens and he must make a choice. Because he chooses to help someone else, he ends up winning a place of honor with the Easter bunny.
Then we created our best eggs ever.
First we wrote Ee and the word Egg then we used the eraser end of a pencil to create and decorate our eggs.
Eggcellent Eggs!
We then read this book
and learned the various animals who start life in a hard shelled nest called an egg.
Then we made these duck hand-print arts.
After a morning full of learning fun and art it was time for lunch and a nap, then practiced our Ee's and names.
We will be having much more egg learning fun this week.
See you tomorrow
Ms. P
