One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

What a fun book.  What a fun day!

We read and re-read Dr Seuss'  One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish then went straight to our learning centers where this fun counting activity was waiting for us.  We will be expanding on this wonderful counting center through out the week, but for today we were happy with our fishbowl counting mats.

The children really enjoyed counting out their fish then Ms. Pamela challenged us to do a little bit of adding and then, the part they enjoyed the most, subtracting.  We gobbled those fish for speeding subtraction fun.

I made each child their own fish bowl counting mats and bagged a set of goldfish for them to take home and practice counting with mom and dad.

Our day centered around math today but we get in as much writing as we can, sneaking it in here and there, so we wrote our numbers 1-5 and glued them into our fishbowls.

Ms. P slipped in letter writing and had us practice Ff after cutting and gluing.

After we completed this counting/writing activity, we practiced cutting with scissors.  I simply put a pile of scrap paper in the center of the table and let the kids cut until their heart's were content.

We were now ready to make a cute Freddy Fish puppet, where we, once again practiced writing our Ff and cutting.

We made a surprise for our dads for Father's Day and sat it aside until Friday.  Then we made hand print fish and sat them aside to dry to create our very own One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish book.

Then we enjoyed a lunch of noodles and meatballs, broccoli, corn, orange slices, and milk.

After nap we practiced our names and this Ff writing sheet

Then we finished up our One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish books.

Happy Tuesday, Everyone

Ms. P
