Learning about Ladybugs

Guess who arrived at Picasso Preschooler today?

These guys.

200 of them.

Today we read this Eric Carle classic

After reading about our grouchy ladybug we wanted to be ladybugs so we made these.

We are cute as little bugs!

We enjoyed making ladybug Ll's.

As always, we started this art project with writing our Ll's and the word Ladybug.

Then we made these cute paper ladybugs.

We enjoyed sorting our insects/bugs.  I found the cute green sorting tray at the dollar store, and the insects/bugs and bug catchers at Oriental Trading Company.

The children really enjoyed sorting through their bugs sorting them by big insects, little insects, butterflies, spiders, bugs, insects.  They had a wonderful time sorting through their bugs.

It was time for lunch and nap after all the art and sorting.

When we woke up we practiced writing our names and then we made this ladybug counting book.

We were so proud of our books.

Now it was time for some hands-on fun!

We enjoyed making these hand-print ladybugs the following day.

We made a paper plate ladybug too.

Happy Ladybug Learning!
